What to measure under the sink before choosing an organiser

Map the trap, pipes, valves and sink bowl before measuring. Width and height taken in different places do not necessarily describe one usable space.

Draw front and top views. Mark obstacles and the areas that must remain accessible for inspection and maintenance. Measure the door opening and the full route of any basket or tray. Do not rest storage on pipes or move connections to make it fit.

Choose a layout that lets you remove objects without dismantling plumbing. An open-shaped organiser or a photograph under another sink does not prove compatibility. Resolve damp, leaks or unfamiliar installations with a professional before adding storage. This guide does not propose plumbing alterations.

30 or 40 cm cupboards: why nominal width is not enough

Nominal width identifies a cabinet family, not the clear space available. Cabinets with the same nominal size can use different panels, hinges and construction. Record nominal size separately from internal measurements.

Adjustable Separators: what to check before buying

Check both ends of the adjustment range. A maximum length greater than your drawer width does not prove that the minimum is short enough. Distinguish product length from the manufacturer’s permitted working span.
