Before you choose

Fixed or expandable

A fixed tray leaves a predictable space beside it. An expandable tray adjusts within its documented range; extension cannot solve a minimum width that is already too large. Check compartment orientation before rotating a tray.

Measure usable space

Measure base width and depth at the narrowest point, clear height when closed, fittings and the contents themselves. Tray height is not necessarily the required drawer height. Compare compartment dimensions with long utensils.

Materials and cleaning

A bamboo organiser may include an MDF base. Check its complete composition and care instructions, dry cutlery before storage and do not assume dishwasher suitability. Several modules or dividers may suit mixed utensils better than many small compartments.

Ten checks before buying an organiser

Use the manufacturer documentation and the selected store variant together. The aim is to detect specific differences, not obtain a universal installation guarantee.
