Description and use
The gray DrawerStore 85119 groups silverware in a narrow tray with angled, overlapping compartments. It is 11 cm wide, 39.5 cm deep and 5.7 cm high, but Joseph Joseph requires a drawer height of at least 8 cm. Non-slip feet and silverware symbols are part of the documented design.
The main decision is how you want to divide the drawer. This format dedicates a strip to silverware and lets you plan the space beside it separately. It does not provide a complete layout for every utensil: first sort what you store and decide which pieces will stay outside that strip.
Advantages
- Limited width: useful when leaving space at the side for other items is the priority.
- Separate compartments: each type of silverware can have its place. The symbols help maintain that arrangement.
- Independent tray: organize the rest of the drawer without filling it with a wide silverware tray.
Drawbacks
- Narrow does not mean short: it needs 39.5 cm of external depth. A shallow drawer may rule it out even with enough width.
- Product height is different from the required drawer height. We would not choose it without the 8 cm specified by the manufacturer.
- Overlapping compartments may not suit you if you prefer to see each piece laid flat. An exact capacity for your silverware is not documented.
Who we recommend it for
Consider it if you want to separate everyday silverware and keep an independent area for utensils. Sort your pieces into groups first. If you have several sets, do not assume they will all fit a compact format.
When to choose another option
To keep silverware and accessories in a single tray, compare the layouts of the expandable 85042 and bamboo 85170. If available depth or height is the problem, choosing only a wider model will not solve it.
What to check before buying
- Measure the clear interior at its narrowest point and the entry opening, not the cabinet front.
- Make a paper footprint and place the utensils you want to keep beside it in the drawer.
- Check long or thick handles and leave room to grip them; we do not know the internal dimensions of each compartment.
- Confirm the gray 85119 reference and its care instructions: the manufacturer specifies washing and drying by hand.
