Before you choose

Separate waste with access in mind

Compare capacity per container with the waste streams you produce. A small food-scrap container is not a composting system.

Freestanding or fitted

A freestanding bin needs floor space and clearance for its pedal or lid. A fitted system needs verified mounting, opening and full travel. Under a sink, map pipes, trap and valves separately.

Emptying and cleaning

Allow room to lift the lid, remove a full container and change bags. Litres alone do not identify the correct bag. Check container count, individual capacity, hardware, furniture requirements and power supply for sensor models. Odour control and airtight closure require evidence for the exact model.

Analysis of manufacturer documents, without physical testing. External dimensions do not guarantee installation or fit. Check clearances and the exact variant before buying.

30 or 40 cm cupboards: why nominal width is not enough

Nominal width identifies a cabinet family, not the clear space available. Cabinets with the same nominal size can use different panels, hinges and construction. Record nominal size separately from internal measurements.

Adjustable Separators: what to check before buying

Check both ends of the adjustment range. A maximum length greater than your drawer width does not prove that the minimum is short enough. Distinguish product length from the manufacturer’s permitted working span.
