Everyday use and storage

A fixed dish rack stays ready; a folding one can be stored away but needs both open and folded dimensions checked. Allow room for your largest dishes without hitting taps or upper cabinets.

Water and cleaning

Confirm whether a tray is included, how it empties and how drainage reaches the sink. The tray and rack may have different footprints. The number of slots does not prove that deep plates, thick lids or serving dishes will fit.

Measure the complete arrangement

Check worktop clearance away from the cooking area, height with dishes loaded, sink-edge distance and tray access. Check removable parts, documented moisture resistance and storage space for folding models.

Analysis of manufacturer documents, without physical testing. External dimensions do not guarantee installation or fit. Check clearances and the exact variant before buying.

30 or 40 cm cupboards: why nominal width is not enough

Nominal width identifies a cabinet family, not the clear space available. Cabinets with the same nominal size can use different panels, hinges and construction. Record nominal size separately from internal measurements.

Adjustable Separators: what to check before buying

Check both ends of the adjustment range. A maximum length greater than your drawer width does not prove that the minimum is short enough. Distinguish product length from the manufacturer’s permitted working span.
